HISTORY OF THE COMPANY
Dance Performance Group a small dance/theater company of highly physical performers
was founded in 1989 to present Nancy Havlik's choreography. The multi-faceted dances
address the human condition, individual struggle for connection and matters of the heart.
Company members and Nancy Havlik engage in a highly collaborative rehearsal process involving
improvisation, writing, exploration of text and visual art to realize the finished work.
Composers, designers, musicians and writers are a vital part of the creative mix.
The Company presents performances and workshops to a rich, varied audience and is
committed to making the choreography available to those who often do not have access
to dance performance.
